These terms apply to everything Grasp offers: the web tools at grasp.info, the Grasp for Chrome extension, the Grasp for Mac app, and any Grasp app we release later. By using any of them you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Grasp.
2. What Grasp is
The web tools summarize, answer questions about, and extract text and structure from documents, images, audio and video you submit.
Grasp for Chrome translates web pages beside the original, explains a word in the sentence it is in, answers follow-up questions, reads text in images, and keeps a notebook.
Grasp for Mac does the same for any text on your screen, including text that cannot be selected, and can translate a region of the screen in place.
One account covers all of them. The apps are distributed through grasp.info and the app stores; a store's own terms also apply to what you install from it.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 13 and give accurate information. One account per person; do not share it.
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials safe. Connecting an app to your account is something only you should approve; you can disconnect a device from your profile page.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You may delete yours at any time by writing to [email protected].
4. Free use, plans and fair use
Before signing up: one run on the web tools; in Grasp for Chrome, three model explanations and the first two screens of a page; in Grasp for Mac, the dictionary, Apple Translation and text recognition, which run on your Mac.
Free account: five runs a day on the web tools with files up to 10 MB, and 100 lookups a month across the apps. A lookup is one explanation, one Deeper answer or follow-up, or one request of page text, about a screen's worth.
Premium: unlimited runs and lookups under fair use (lookups are metered at 30,000 a month across the apps), files up to 300 MB, the advanced models and every tool, with priority processing.
Fair use means ordinary use by one person. Automated, shared, resold or bulk use is not covered, and we may slow or stop it.
Allowances, limits and features may change. We give notice of changes that reduce what a paid plan includes.
5. Billing
Premium is billed in advance through our payment processor, monthly, quarterly or yearly as you choose, and renews until you cancel. Cancel any time; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Payments are not refunded for an unused part of a period, except where the law requires it.
Prices may change. A change applies from your next renewal after we notify you. Taxes may be added where the law requires.
6. Your content, our output
What you submit stays yours. You give us the licence we need to store and process it, and to send it to the AI model providers that produce the result, for the purpose of providing the service and nothing else. You must have the right to submit it.
AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. It is not professional, legal, medical or financial advice. Check anything you rely on.
You may use the output for any lawful purpose. Where the law allows it, we claim no ownership of it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
submit content that is illegal, or that you have no right to use;
get around allowances, free-use limits or rate limits, including by creating accounts or install identifiers to repeat free use;
scrape, harvest or automate access to the service without our written permission;
probe, interfere with or overload the service, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows;
use Grasp to harm, harass or deceive others, or to break someone else's terms or privacy.
8. The apps
Grasp for Chrome and Grasp for Mac are licensed to you, not sold, for use under these terms.
Features that run on your device depend on your browser, operating system and installed language models, and may be unavailable on some systems.
Permissions you grant (such as Accessibility or Screen Recording on the Mac) are used only as the Privacy Policy describes. The Mac app checks grasp.info for updates.
The apps need an account and an internet connection for cloud answers and notebook sync.
9. Our property
Grasp, its name and mark, its design, software and prompts are ours or our licensors'. Open-source components inside the apps are covered by their own licences. Nothing here gives you a right to use our name or mark.
10. No warranty, and the limit of our liability
Grasp is provided as is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for decisions made on its output. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; there, they apply as far as the law permits.
11. Indemnity
You will cover us for claims that arise from content you submit, from your breach of these terms, or from your misuse of the service.
12. Ending the service, changing it, and these terms
We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue something a paid plan includes, we refund the unused part of the period.
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and material changes are announced on the site or by email. Using Grasp after a change means you accept it.
Sections 6, 9, 10 and 11 survive the end of your account.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of Grasp is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, write to us; most questions are settled by email. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
